Group Show of sculpture and video that meets at the Musterpoint only to diverge……

Muster Point is an exhibition that agrees to disagree on the rules of assembly. With site specific sculpture and video, Dexter Dymoke, Hania Stella-Sawicka, Candida Powell-Williams, Elaine Mullings and Alice Evans bring their own rules to bear at the ASC gallery.

It becomes a forum for questioning the self and the group and how and where they meet and under what rules. As Hania Stella-Sawicka asks… how much are our collective movements choreograghed by signage and the symbolic language of the shared space.

Dexter Dymoke asks of the forms of assembly, teasingly proposing to stand on a tethered raft and wave specially designed flags. Group migration patterns and tourism are something that Candida Powell-Williams has been working on in Rome and her sculptural performance within this show uses a recital of a Shelley play.

Alice Evans new film work draws on a historical link between a family home in Wales being used In a 1950s film called The Last Days of Dolwyn and more recent footage of the same place. It asks a more melancholy question about this flooded place.

Although Elaine Mullings is reminded of the mustering or assembling of crows before roosting her site specific copper piping sculptural work create frames that cluster and frame the environment.  As Dexter Dymoke says… a muster point can have the feel of an emergency, rules that have to be obeyed. This show looks at the rule book.
